This session provides a deep dive into connecting SharePoint search to business applications via the Business Data Catalog and federation. We provide an end-to-end demo of configuring the Business Data Catalog and SharePoint search, from creating the application definition through customizing the look and feel of the search results and another end-to-end demo of using the federation features in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Search Server 2008 to federate queries to the Microsoft SQL Server full text search service. If you have structured data and you want users to be able to search within it, this is the session for you.
