This session covers the obscure territory of passing sets of data from a client application to SQL Server. There are (almost) countless solutions to this task; use of the SQL Server 2008 feature Table Valued Parameters (TVPs), XML, strings, Bulk Copy, etc. In this session we describe as well as compare many of these approaches. We also look into what stored procedures brings to the table as well as using the new MERGE statement. A discussion on pros and cons and performance aspects of each approach, as well as a look at end-to-end demos is a promise!
