A senior HP consultant reviews the state of the client infrastructure, and the many options that customers face. Because of the complexity of the desktop environment and the diverse nature of today’s workers, what used to be a relatively simple choice—notebook or PC—is no longer so straightforward. This session covers aspects of client upgrades to Windows 7, including user segmentation, application remediation, deployment, and implementation strategies, as well as the different approaches to client virtualization, from server-hosted models, to client-hosted and blade workstation. The importance of strategy, justification, and roadmap are stressed, with the assumption that most customers will end up with a hybrid architecture.
