In this workshop, you will discover how the various Windows Azure services can be integrated into apps to extend their functionality. You will also learn how to address common needs such as computing capabilities, storage, authentication, and more. To demonstrate concepts, this workshop focuses on Windows 8 and Windows Phone, though concepts can be applied to any platform including Android and iOS.
In order to get the most out of this workshop, you'll need to set yourself up with a Windows Azure subscription. If you don't already have a Windows Azure subscription, see below to learn more about your options to trial Windows Azure for free. You will also need to download the Windows Azure Training Kit and tools.
Windows Azure Subscription
To get the most out of what is presented in this workshop, please activate a Windows Azure Trial Subscription using one of the three options outlined below. The Windows Azure Trial Subscription will allow you to deploy websites, virtual machines, create highly scalable applications in a rich PaaS environment and create a backed for your Windows 8 client app in minutes. It will also help you follow along during the hands-on labs!
Windows Azure Training Kit
The Windows Azure Training Kit includes a comprehensive set of technical content including hands-on labs and presentations that are designed to help you learn how to use the latest Windows Azure features and services. These workshops will make use of the Windows Azure Training Kit.
Windows Azure Tools
Windows Azure is an open cloud platform that enables you to quickly build, deploy and manage applications across a global network of Microsoft-managed datacenters. You can build applications using any language, tool or framework.
