Tiles draw users back into your app by bringing your tile to life on the Start screen. Notifications, delivered through the Windows Notification Service, draw users back into your app even when it's not running. In this session you'll learn how to implement Tiles, Notifications and allow users to personalize their Start screen by creating pinned Tiles.

Kevin did a great job on this talk. Dense content.
Great overview. But I didn't quite understand if it is possible to update the tile by executing some custom code in the app instead of calling a remote service. An example: every 1h I would like that my logic is called which calls, say, retrives my 20 RSS feeds and shows on the tile the 3 most recent titles?
