Is the fact that Windows 8 is horrendously ugly a design difference?
You lure me in here with an ad on techmeme and expect me to watch a "1 hour, 12 minute" video!? Dafuq? Didn't know Windows 8 is that complicated.
Excellent contrast between Windows 8 clean design and Apple's cumbersome Skeuomorphic theme.
@Dimitar Dobrev: I optimistically assume you're educated enough to elaborate on your simplistic pitiful slur.
@Peaceman: Learning takes time. Oh the era of ADHD and where people are proud of it! -.-

No excellent contrast between the toy Windows 8 OS and a functional OS like iOS. Windows 8 has been described as having a very bad usability and if you are willing to get out of your Windows world full of anti-Apple stupidity, you could read this

Windows 8 is a disaster, a pain for users. Microsoft would do good to itself if it would admit its mistake instead of pushing people to use such a bad product.
@Elizer0x0309: Do you really think I'd waste time elaborating on the obvious repulsiveness of Windows 8? Anyway, my apologies that my post wasn't simplistic enough for you.
I used some windows 8 pc's the other day and I found the design to be very good. This video not only explains windows 8 design, but also some good universal design rules that will be the future of design.
@Donald McIntyre: Yay. Some sanity on the thread... Thanks.

while iOS is great on smartphones, i never quite appreciated it as a tablet OS... i think Microsoft has done a great job with their Windows 8 UI, and its disappointing that people have been blinded to it...
I just got a PC with windows 8 today and I think it is very usable, you just have to have two things; intelligence and common sense. As long as you maintain those two things it is extremely user friendly.
I haven't use Windows 8 yet. But as a web designer watching this video made me rethink again about design principles and I personally think this is the way to go for today computer UI designs.
It's simple, beautiful and econormical. Simple is more.
great lecture for windows 8 lovers.......excellent but for ios users mockery.........lol
Moving away from the search field seems silly to me.
