NodeJS is reaching a level of maturity where the enterprise is starting to take it seriously and the plethora of modules now available allow for plenty of choice when putting together new web applications. To complete this story, we need to be able to deploy and easily scale out these web applications and for this we can reach out to Azure. Microsoft have provided all the tooling and SDKs required for this to be an easy path to take - and being able to deploy to the same environment as other software written on top of more traditional enterprise platforms is super appealing. In this largely code-driven session we'll jump right into building an end-to-end example on top of a happy-path combination of popular modules such as Express, Jade and Stylus. We'll also be utilizing persistence in the form of MongoDB and looking at all some the other aspects of deployment to Azure such as logging and supporting development across different environments.
