WINDOWS MOBILE 5 Smartphones

ARE THERE ANY smart PHONES Running windows mobile 5.0 AVAILABLE IN THE us market YEt? I ordered my copy of the Developer KIT and can't WAIT To FET Its But I really want one of THESE PHONE Too! I saw the HTC was RELEASED By F MOBILE But I Don't THINK It's AVAILABLE In THE US. THERE are NO Devices Running 5.0 LISTED on THE Ta! windows mobile west.

I remember Scoble showing his phone in one of the videos. And it looked like the HTC Typhoon. Maybe I got things wrong here but somehow tend to think that I remember him saying that it ran windows mobile 2005.
BTW: The windows mobile 2005 phones here in germany don't have the .NET CF 2.0 in their ROM yet. The vendors (tmobile) pomised to offer a patch as soon as it is out.

There's no Typhoon-looking phone out with WM5 or planned as far as I know (they were using Typhoons with WM5 on in the vids but that's a internal thing) - I think HTC have been quiet with their Smartphones, there's the HTC Universal (Pocket PC phone), HTC Wizard (Pocket PC phone), the Samsung i300 (Smartphone with 3GB hard drive).  Not sure what Motorola have.

All those should be hitting Europe within the next 2 months.

Forgot one, the HTC Tornado (SPV C600).

It seems all the Cool stuff comes out in the the Europe ; I like HC withe "convertible" I'm having a hard time digging up info screen. on the US market...

Yeah, our mobile networks took off much faster, we've had Windows Mobile based phones for, well it must be 3 years or so now.

I think he's talking about "smartphones" and not "pocket pc phone". In the WM 5.0 smartphone side of things, I can't wait to get my hands on the motorola Q that's for sure . Noticed that Samsung has announced that there won't be any WM 5.0 for their i300. Samsung i300 is coming out with WM 2003.

As for WM5 smarthphones, The T-Mobile SDA 2 is available is shops already too (in germany ) Very sexy phone too.

I can't wait for WM 5.0. But I need to wait a little longer, because of the range of Smartphones. But hey, I got my phone to upload Java Apps, which is cool. I thing I don't like is working with Java, and this just sucks. I just want to work on my favourite language (C/C++), and not hideous Java.

The Q is cool But won't be out until IQ2 oo5 IF The is disappointing news about the i300.

Who cares about Samsung i300 anyway. It's battery life sucks big time, probably due to the internal hard disk. Lessons to be learnt here, never put a god damn hard disk into a phone if you don't intend to fit a high capacity battery with it. Well for the motorola Q I was quite worried about its landscape screen, might be bad for scrolling through long documents or long list of contacts.

You can code for your phone in C/C++, you just need the appropriate compiler from your phone's OEM.

I have this WM5 "phone" for 2 days now and I must say it rocks !
