Go to Google in IE7 and look at what's in the top right hand corner.
Perhaps Ballmer was a bit vexed about this? ![]()
Yes, I do know it's very normal to have a little link showing people how to set your site as "default whatever". Though, don't you think having a little dialog at the top of the page with a red arrow (perhaps drawn in a program akin to MS Paint) is a bit OTT?

Yeah, its pretty BIG. Its quite funny really. I had already changed my default search to Google. I'm sure anyone who wants to use google will have already made the change without needing the BIG google prompt. -
microsoft should patent the text box then charge google a royalty of $1 a character.

I think this is it.
Now for the royalties..

I noticed that yesterday, but I wasn’t sure if it was IE 7 only and I was too lazy go to another computer and check. But your right, it is very obnoxious.
-
Pretty funny, although not particularly obnoxious. I don't think it's anything to get upset about.
I see that IE7 still has the retarded menu-bar-in-every-tab UI...

What do you mean "still"? Nothing's changed...it's the same build....beta 1.

I noticed that and all I could think of was...lame

I sincerely hope that Steve is spending his time focused on things a hell of a lot more important than this.mVPstar wrote:Perhaps Ballmer was a bit vexed about this?
Google's approach is a little over the top, if you ask me, but it's nothing to get worked up over. Hardly different than "make Google your homepage" links. -

True just lame...
Untill Google buys Mozilla and they release GodZilla or whatever they'll call their browser we'll continue to see things like this. I wouldn't be supprised to see a "Import your IE Favorites into Google Personal" and "Import your MSN Messenger contacts into Google Talk", and similar things show up.
Mozilla is in bed with Google and it's a love affair of the worse kind.
I'm just glad to see AOL Search made it as a search engine in the list. -

We already know this. Mozilla Foundation recently spun-off a capitalist For-Profit division known as "Mozilla Corporation", aparently this was funded with money donated from Google.
You'll notice that Google powers the default homepage in Firefox, the "Firefox Start" page.
Although in reality its just Google with a Mozilla.org-type user interface (but why did they ditch CSS!?)
-
Firefox y Netscape 8 are still much better browsers and they support all Windows users, not just XP and Server 2003
-
I installed vista beta 1 and was using IE 7 and I ise google.com all the time and I didn't see that little box.
-
Maybe Google Search is your default search already, zybler?
-
I could care less what it is. I don't use toolbar searches, rather type in the whole search link..

For some reason I remember the query format and everything..
Love ya' Google. Hate ya' MSN.

Or maybe it's only on google.com and not the localized ones?
