I' ve heard that Visual Studio 2005 RC was dropped on MSDN today and will also be handed out to all of the PDC ’05 attendees.
Is it true?

Besides the SQL 2005 CTP September I indeed see the RC of VS2005. Thanks for the heads up!

It was true. I downloaded the VS Team Suite and TLA. I tried to get the Sql Server September CTP and poof it all vanished.
Team System Beta 3 hadn't shown yet, or it vanished before I got there.

SQL Sept CTP and VS RC1 are there
It's VS Team Suite though. Huh. Not sure I want that. I wish they'd stick to one SKU throughout the whole beta process, or at least offer the same ones release in, release out. 4GB? No thanks. 3Gb for standard took long enough as it is.

Must be a glitch, you should try again...
What subscription do you have? -
I wonder if they'll put standard up again, or if it's just going to be team system

The Certified Partner one which is Enterprise.
Still gone. Grrr.

I still don't see anything when I log into MSDN, wonder why not, Is it a new top level category or what?
-
Ok, it's back again. But still to TFS Beta 3.

I see Team Suite RC1 and Team Test Load Agent.
So maybe we won't be getting Standard or Professional

They released in phases for the July CTP and I have no reason to expect that this won't happen again for the Release Candidates. Go back in a few days to a week.

And now Subscriber downloads is toasted
So I am stuck with Team System, in which the readme talks about a serial number, and no way to check if I do, indeed need a serial number.
BTW can I actually make use of the Team System client download without the full team system setup behind it? With a different source control package? Will it ask for a serial number?
It would be useful to get an RC release installed soon so I can start on that presentation for the DDD day coming up.

Yup. Download of SQL Server 2005 September CTP (which VS2005 RC apparently works with) is fine, but VS2005 is a joke (I think we get our copies at PDC today so not a big deal for me personally).

If the August CTP is anything to go by you don't need the full team system setup. I've been consistently downloading the "Team System" version and had no problems. Installing Team Foundation Server (other than as a pre-built VM) is just too much like hard work at this stage. -

Errr, joke? (He says as he watches the uninstall continue)
I'm worried about this serial number thing now *sob*

I meant in terms of download speed.
For some reason they're not giving us the software here at PDC until after Bill's keynote (I suspect there will be a mad rush to the distribution centre once the embargo's over but I'm not missing a session just to grab some software I won't have time to look at until the weekend) so non-PDC attendees actually get VS2005 and SQL Server first

Which to install first, VS RC1 or the SQL Sept CTP ...
