I checked out channel 9 to see how things work inside MS... and left amused at how every single person associated with it willing to be photographed is a pasty, chubby white guy. I'm not being all pc here, I don't per se care, but it's really kind of funny.
I thought you had to be smart to work at MS, but it seems the first qualification is to look like Homer Simpson.

Frankly, I'm not a homer simpson, but I find that offensive. -
Cheeky begger!

And where is YOUR pic in place of a default avatar? If it's because it doesn't matter what gender you are or how pasty you are then why post? If it's because you're also pasty, then why post? If it's because you're an LA 10 supermodel, then I'm sure a lot of people would say PLEASE POST (your pic).
Really, can we all not find more interesting and intellectual topics besides "Look, sausage fest!"?
Maybe something along the lines of how software and/or communities evolve differently because of a lack and/or preponderance of certain racial and/or gender influences. This is something I've often wondered about but have never really gotten the chance to search for research in the area. -
Hey, it is kind of amusing, but what's even funnier to me is how many of the people who are online users of the site are ALSO pasty, chubby white guys.
There ARE lots of smart women who work at Microsoft, I promise you.

Hey now, SOME of us are making an effort here...

Have you ever worked with other software folks? If they're not from India, chances are they're white, pasty, and chubby.

This made me laugh my * off. Thanks for the compliment Bro

I find it quite humorous that you all have created yet another excuse (for us all) to stay inside, too..
:o) -
Consider it a service to skin care professionals

I'm a pasty white guy. But, so far I've interviewed an Indian. Friday a black guy. Women coming.
Yeah, probably should have had some more diversity up front. There are a lot of pasty white guys here. -
Maybe if we ever saw a ray of sunlight here in Liverpool, I could be just a chubby guy. I think its rained consistently for 3 months straight.
Doritos are my weakness, so the chubby bit is my fault

I claim one of the big reasons for the chubbiness is the food that they serve in the cafeterias here.
I can't get over how much they give you (an order of fries here could feed my family for a day, and I got a _half_ order of paella the other day that I could finish).
I've complained to Eurest (the "caterer" for the Microsoft cafeterias), but nobody ever listens. It's frustrating. You know how this "big" food companies can be to deal with...
The pastiness, well, that's just Seattle weather.
