Mac user switching...

OK, I try not to puke too much of Scobles stuff up around here however this blog post is something I absolutely love. Now I don't know if this Russell Beattie is a Yahoo! employee or not (I'm not looking till after I make this post so I'm not biased) but the blog post is pretty compelling and I've felt the same way about Macs after my wife had a few issues with ours...

I remember hearing about Linus using a dual G5 but I didn't think it was donated.

They stuck Torvalds with a G5 and now they're switching to Intel....LOL!

LOL Nothing like taking a vacation and having to deal with electrical outages, or bad food, or water that you have to boil before drinking, to make you realize what you take for granted at home.

Nothing like using another OS to make you realize what you take for granted about Windows.

This is not to say that other OSes don't do certain things better than Windows (I LOVE checking a box to start the ssh daemon in Mac OS.  And Swiss highways are WAYYY better than American ones) but yeah, I've had Finder Rage too...

I've had my share of Finder problems in OSX and such...

I hope this guy gets to beta Vista....I love Explorer in Vista.

OSX isn't for everyone, it isn't really a big deal, so he doesn't like it - then use something else.

A lot of his comments though tend to be - I don't like this application, I prefer the Windows version.  The fact that he is so public and (almost) vitriolic about it is what is pissing off the mac horde, that and most of his 'points' are not really valid criticisms of the OS.

Although in this case ..
He has had a fair amount of flack in the past for not quite being as knowledgable as he claims to be - his Linux comment shows that, but he certainly does know his mobile.

Hmmm, so now your the definative person on who's who on the Internet based on if you know them or not? Interesting every post of yours seems to get further and further away from reality

It seems that everyone is switching these days. You can fill in the blank with your favorite OS... There's a user born every day. It's great there is more choice now than there was in the '90s.

I think its a completely justifiable comment.

You attack Cybermagellan for being dedicated to Microsoft, yet there is no one here who has a dedication towards a single company than you to Apple.

You responded to this thread by trying to belittle Cybermagellan's thread as being not so much about Apple but being about someone saying something bad about Microsoft's competition (be they Mozilla, Apple or Google), when in another thread you had to respond to someone saying something bad about the iPod Nano saying its all lies, Lies, LIES!

I just highlighted, for comic effect, the nonsensicalness of what seems to be someone rushing out to buy the Nano on release, even though they own an iPod Mini...
