I'm talking about actually deleting them, not moving them to the trash or deleted items folder.
... I've deleted 40,000 at a time... It takes longer, but Outlook does a pretty good job of not coughing too hard when you delete large amounts of data. It's unusable while doing so (which sucks), but it doesn't die or anything.
