I guess it's about that time. I haven't seen this thread in a while, so why not repost?
What music is everyone listening to? And on what are you listening?
Currently, I"m about to turn on Napster and listen to the
East Village Opera Company.
(Think The Who and Queen, as opposed to Vivaldi).

I'm listening to Jimmy McGriff on WBGO-FM

As part of my Halloween line-up I have the soundtrack to the Lost Boys playing on Winamp. While not REALLY spooky it does have a few good covers on it.

Mostly Kayne West, Jay-Z, and Gorillaz stuff like that.
On a side note I've thought about making a site where people can upload a playlist from an iPod and it have it tally the numbers and rank what people listen to. -

Doesn't help those of us who don't have iPods, now does it..

I'm on random mode on my Zen Micro. Currently Jeff Buckly's singing "Grace." Been enjoying Gorillaz, Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here, and 'The Casablanca Records Story'

Most places have that policy. Along with wear a shirt and tie, keep a tidy desk, and dont mess around with your desktop settings.
Currently listening to The Ramones - The KKK Took my Baby Away.

Elastica - Generator (I loves me some Elastica.)
Morningwood - Nth Degree (can't stop listening to this, even though it's so power-poppy it's like eating sugarcubes)
Roger Miller - Dad Blame Anything a Man Can't Quit
David Bowie - Fashion (We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town, beep-beep)
The Doors - Love Her Madly
Al Stewart - Year of the Cat
The Lemonheads - It's a Shame About Ray
Air - Afternoon Sister (this song is so beautiful, elegiac, and so sad, it should come with a box of Kleenex and a bottle of Prozac.)
Danny Elfman - Desperate Housewives Theme (I fell asleep with this on repeat, and now, because this 40-second piece of music played over 400 times, it made its way onto my "Top 25 Most Played" list. Must... get... song... out... of... head....)
Listening on the Tablet PC... until the new iPod arrives

No Headphones, also produced by "Upper Management."
Sometimes when no one is around, I will hum aloud to myself in protest.
We work in close proximity to one another here (aka cubicles), so it is important not to distract others from their work.
But late at night, I CRANK IT UP.
EDIT: No ties here; and my desktop, forget it!

Gotta love those "single track" 45-minute long epics

Depends on what I'm doing at the moment.
COBOL programming: Anything heavy metal and has at one point been called "satanic." eg, Metallica, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, etc.
Programming in general: Classical music
uh, other stuff
Jazz, DMB, etc. -
Right now: Franz Ferdinand's new album ("You Could Have It So Much Better")
Before that: The Cure's "Pornography" (to those who know the album, it's been one of THOSE days at work!)
Most of the time I listen to dance compilations (mainly trance, high bpm stuff) or classical music but occasionally a guitar album comes out.
