one day, we are only need a small harddisk, all of large files store at thounds of file system servers, and we don't need setup any software, all needs is just a link.

But the big question for me is: Can I trust a 3rd party with my data?
I use Google Desktop, and I feel thats as far as I want to go with trusting my data with Google. For website hosting, the infrastructure Google has would be neat. -
I dunno... I prefer having local copies of things on my hard drive. The latency of grabbing it from a local HD is less than going to a network and grabbing it. Also, it allows for offline work.

What do they trying to prove... Google stick to your Ad---Sense and Search leave the rest to seasoned players(M$), let Microsoft figure out the WINFX or WEBFX File System with tons and tons of bugs in it and release Service pack 1,2,3,4..........
I would rather have my data with me but i am ok if the Software which i want to use are on a GFileSystem.

That's probably the #1 question, and the answer can't be yes. No matter how well they try and sell it as secure, the answer will always be "no". I see no business need for storing their files on a 3rd party solution. And if it is your own solution that this thing is supposed to do, then I'd rather use something like SharePoint. -

Prove? They developed the Google Filesystem for their own internal use. They don't distribute it. And Microsoft doesn't have a distributed filesystem1, "seasoned player" or not.
1MS-DFS is a naming and redirection service and is not actually distributed filesystem.

Shhh...Dont say loud... Gates might hear it and send another "Sea of changes" email....

I don't see much value in a filesystem where all my data is exclusively stored remotely. However, I see a lot of value in encrypted copies of my local data being available to me remotely and seamlessly.

Is the Google Filesystem for their mystery operating system? I bet it must be a Distributed Operating System if Google is developing it.

Google's operating system is Linux.

Google's operating system for their search service is built on a customized/optimized Linux kernel (customized/optimized by Google). It is highly tuned for their purposes and very distributed/parallelized in nature.
Why would Google want to build a consumer grade OS? Makes no sense given their business model. Plus, Windows as it exists today and will exist tomorrow is an incredible piece of engineering built by one of the best software engineering teams in the world. Good luck out innovating us in the OS space, Google...
Anyway, I bet Google employees primarily use Windows XP. Just a guess, though.
I'll go out on a limb and say that Windows will continue to be the dominant OS in the world, regardless of all this ad-sense non-sense, because it is the best OS in the world, created by the best OS engineers and architects in the world.
You are going to continue to meet many more of these people right here on Channel 9. You'll get to see firsthand what types of innovations are happening in Windows, from the very core to the Shell, and meet the engineers who engineer them.

They'll never have enough money. We could, however, buy Google. That would be interesting (and really unrealistic).

Why buy them when you can compete with them at a much reduced cost? Unless one or the other is almost going out of business I doubt either will buy the other for a very long time.
I can however see Microsoft buying out someone like AOL who is well passed their peek. -

Also... They'll never have enough foresight of the road ahead.

Attack is the best defence , that's why Google want to build a consumer grade OS.

A company is able to develop a File System(or Data Engine) that doesn't prove the company is able to develop a Operating System, but if Google made a Operating System that can prove it is able to do more COOL stuffs than we can imagine, you can call it a business SHOW.
