Looks awesome. Question though, how are they going to integrate this into the Windows Calendar when it is already using the iCalendar format?
I'd like to see them create a new XML schema for calendar information and simply support importing and exporting iCalendar files.

Microsoft is going to suck on the RSS front.

Vista's Calendar can publish also as RSS.

Great! That must be the latest Vista build. The last one I tried only did ICS.
How does Microsoft store the Windows Calendar files?

IMHO what's on the plate here is just another micro-format suggestion that solves a specific business problem oriented around a relatively unstructured list of externally defined items (aka RSS).
The solution seems reasonable, what aspect sucks Steve?

No idea, but that shouldn't matter as long as you can publish them outside. And WinFS offers the API to access that data anyways, so...

I don't care about RSS readers, I want an add-in for Outlook!

The problems Steve is having with MS's "RSS front" is Steve's troubles in creating an RSS reader based on the Channel9 feeds -- which is really .Text.stephbu wrote:

Hint: Outlook 12
Ok, agreed their interface is not intiutive (adding feeds), but its a step in right direction. now just integrate the RSS platform into vista/office 12 and make adding feeds really simple (like in the shell, right-click -> Add to Outlook, etc) and I'll be happy!

I hate the mail format view of RSS feeds.
"River of news" as Dave Winer puts it, is the best way to go. -

Uh? You mean you "hate" how some specific RSS readers render the feeds?
DevilsRejection wrote:"River of news" as Dave Winer puts it, is the best way to go.
For you, maybe. But yeah, get a reader that does that.
NewsGator does both, so I'm fine
