Sorry to ask this question again but are there many developers out there running XP X64? The answer is probably yes, but the real question is what anti virus software are you using? Is it any good and how do you think it compares to say Norton AntiVirus
et al.
Thanks for your help

Computer Associates ETrust - by good do you mean - it doesn't make you wonder if getting a virus is a better less invasive option?
If so then yes it is good. -

I don't know. I always end up disabling real-time scanning with ETrust. I can't even browse an image library with Irfanview without it freezing for 50-60 seconds after every 5th image. -
I don't run any kind of anti-virus or firewall and I've been perfectly fine the past 2 years.
Of course, I do have a hardware firewall, am an "educated" user, and keep my systems patched.

There isn't too many out there that run with x64. ETrust was still in beta last I checked and didn't integrate too well.
The best two I've come accross are Nod32 and Avast. Nod32 conflicts with a default install of MS Antispyware which causes it to hang on startup, while Avast sometimes causes the computer to hang on shutdown. Both these problems can be overcome though. For Nod32 don't install Antispyware in the default location, while for Avast just shut it down in the tray prior to turning off your PC and it will not hang.
In terms of price well there's only one winner and that is Avast. It's pretty much free, you just have to renew your license every 12 months. I would recommend turning off the sound though unless you don't mind hearing a klaxon followed by a robotic "there's a virus on your computer" every time you recieve an infected mail.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I have seen the Avast software before and I have heard of other people using it. I might give it a go.

I run McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i on XP x64 without issue. It's not recognized by security center, but it does work.

I run Avast on my home code box and have been pretty happy with it. I run Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta also.
