That was the original Xbox, it happened in 2003 due to a faulty power supply.
I new the 360 was going to be labelled unstable, or faulty in some other way, because there are so many people who are desperate to see the Xbox fail. Of course their's going to be some failure rate when so many systems have been sold so fast, but its not very fair to judge it as faulty just because a couple of dozen people have posted problems on a few gaming forums.
I've been looking through a lot of forums over the last three days to see what people thought of the 360, and the vast majority of people who have managed to get their hands on one are really pleased with it, and have had no significant problems. Their are plenty of complaint's about the long que's and the shortages, but on the whole the people with the 360's have been very positive.
Every now and then though a post like this pops up: - 'The xbox sux, i played mine for 5 mins and it CRASHED!!! then i looked at the console and smoke was pouring out of it. M$ have screwed up again ah ah ah. PS3 is going to PWN the 360'. Personally I don't take post's like that very seriously.
BTW, the ch9 text editor is really buggy.

Yeah from what I am reading on a few forums is that Sony and Nintendo are actually sending developers and such out to post on how much better that the PS3 and Revolution are going to be. Alot of them are giving detailed information (it seems) on the internal specs and giving price estimates around $500.00
