Hi dudes, somebody already using that build? How stable is it? I was thinking to install it on my PC. For testing purposes... Any recommendations?
Can I install VS2005 on Vista?
You know, I'm bored because of the snow

You just posted this to rub it in for those of us without $5000 MSDN subscriptions

It's going to be replaced with 5259 or 5262 the next few days.

I've installed it but haven't used it very much. Graphics are very slow on my system with a GeForce 6600GT (which is supported out of the box; the Nvidia driver for Beta 1 can't be installed), and I'm not able to select a widescreen resolution (1280x768 in my case). My integrated sound chip (SoundMAX) is also not supported. The XP driver can be installed but is not very stable. I guess that's the price to pay for a new graphics driver model and a new sound subsystem.
Aside from that it looks and feels great. A nice surprise were the new games included, which look a lot more up to date than what is currently offered in XP. -
You won't be able to install VS 2005 RTM on Vista 5231. Build 5231 has a beta version of the 2.0 .Net framework different than the RTM version released with VS 2005.
I'm hoping the next CTP of Vista will include the RTM bits of the .Net Framework and the matching WinFX bits that work with VS 2005 that have just been released. -

I think the entire OS is very slow, a giant pile of bloat.... I wonder how many hour it will take for me to disable all the bloat-ware in Vista? ... -
The CTPs are for those who know they're not even Beta quality, and aren't for daily use. "Bloat" for you shouldn't be an issue if you bear these things in mind.

Linux is slow too!

5231 isn't bad...I have a Nvidia 5200 and since it has DX9 support DWM is enabled by default so it's nice to see Glass without having to use TweakXP.
5259 hit our development share but since I heard through the grapevine that it's going to be replaced with (5263?) some other build I decided not to reimage. I have work to do tomorrow so I might reimage.
