You can hack the extension installation binaries to override the incompatibility block.
There's an extension you can install to avoid this too (Nightly Tester Tools Firefox extension)
Thanks for that - worked a treat on all but one of the xtensions I had 'lost', fortunately one I can live without till the writers update it.
