Microsoft sued over alleged Xbox 360 glitch

I'm willing to bet they are a Sony or Nintendo employee...or paid by one of those companies
-
Wow, if there was a problem, we'd be seeing much more of it happening, instead of one or two random users being ultra-vocal about it, and the ignorant masses repeating the gossip.

Most likely Sony; Nintendo isn't evil.
Sony uses rootkits.
Sony vandalises cities.
Sony won't let you Flash their computers.
And more besides.
When I search for "Sony is evil" I get a few thousand results, when I search for "Nintendo is evil" I get under 700 results, and the top ones of that are Googlism ones (which hardly count).

Well, if we were all "free" like shooby, this wouldn't bother us. We'd all get a good chuckle out of it.
Where's Don Box now?!
I love you too!
xx00
shooby II
:O
Sorry. Had to be done. -

Then we need to have a poker game me and you... Considering just how many law suits are filed each day in North America and how often this bug has been showing up I'm not at all surprised and doubt very much there is any kind of fowl play. -

No repro...
Sony is evil vs. Nintendo is evil
"Sony is evil" vs. "Nintendo is evil"

Those aren't the numbers I get from Google, I'll bet they haven't updated their site mirrors recently.

I doubt it's backed by a competitor.
In any case, I also think the lawsuit will fail. -

Odd... must be some kind of geolocation magic.

The idea that this was initiated by competitors is a bit too much like a conspiracy theory to me. Most likely, this is just a handful of malcontents being prodded along by a hack lawyer. Nevermind the fact that Microsoft has fully acknowledged the issue and provided support lines for repair/replacement of defective units...
The fact is, almost every game console since the transition from cartridges to optical media has some sort of defects in the first few releases. PSX had overheating problems; PS2 had glittchy DVD drives; XBox had the power cord flaws; etc... More interestingly, the consoles that have been released without any major hardware flaws are precisely the ones that got pounded in the market--think 3DO, Saturn, Dreamcast. Even Gamecube, while by no means a failure, has done poorly in comparison with the PS2 and XBox. Now there's your conspiracy theory.

Without actually reading the article (I don't care much for consoles), I'm going to guess that this is just a bunch of annoyed customerswho found that they bought one of the statistical failures that results from any manufacturing process. The problem is, since all of them are sold out, there are no replacements to be had.
I can only imagine how pissed I'd be if I waited overnight at Best Buy in the cold for an XBox that didn't work and had no way to return it for a working model...instead of a cold

...wondered how long it would be until the bugs started crawling out the woodwork.....
melting power supplies.....backwards compatability through software emulation.....sounds like a rush job to me -

Melting power supplies is a myth, backwards compatability through software is necessary due to architecture change, and no, it isn't a rush job.
Way to be wrong all the time. -

I think im gonna wait for a while before I get one as with any new system there are bound to be bugs....
also, I would like to see how it compares with PS3 before I go shelling out £300-£400 on another toy -

You just have to wait for a year. Then you'll be able to compare them.
