Am not sure this is true of 'Western society', I think it is perhaps a primarily American disease.

Like some posters I too wonder what is to be gained by these lawsuits, except publicity and some twisted notion of 'revenge' against the big corporations. Take the machine back, get a replacement, get a life, and stop tying up valuable Court time.
