My name is Chris Breisch.  I'm a consultant for Quest Information Systems, Inc., in Indianapolis, IN.  I graduated from Purdue University, in December of '89 with degrees in Computer Science and Theoretical Mathematics.  I've developed commercial software, internal software and website applications ever since in a variety of langauges, everything from FORTRAN-66 on VAX/VMS (blecch!) to C/C++ on various Unix variants to Centura/SqlWindows to C#/VB.NET on MS Windows.  I've done everything from being a junior progammer to senior developer to team leader to DBA to project manager.

I'm currently working on the Data Access Application Block (Abstract Factory Implementation), and have done some work for the VBCommenter PowerToy.  My current work assignments involve replacing all of the software that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for the state of Indiana uses by moving them entirely to a large ASP.NET application.  This is a large project and I'm just a small part, being the DBA for the current phase.

I still have my very first computer, a screaming TRS-80 Model 1 Level 1 with 64K of RAM and 16 K of ROM.  What a machine.  Smiley

I'm currently blogless as I'm looking for a new home for mine as I don't have time to host it locally at the moment.

My wife and I just celebrate the birth of our first child, and I've discovered that while many people say they have the most beautiful baby, in our case, it's actually true.

Current books I'm reading include: The Universe in a Nutshell, by Stephen Hawking, Professional Design Patterns in VB.NET: Building Adaptable Applications, by Tom Fischer, John Slater, Peter Stromquist, and Char G. Wu, and Test-Driven Development in Microsoft .NET by James W. Newkirk and Alexei A. Vorontsov.
