I was wondering if anyone here has a Motion LE1600. It's on my very short list of Tablet PC's to buy ![]()
I've also been looking at the Toshiba M4, but I'm really not a fan of laptops so not sure how often I would use the keyboard.
I just figured perhaps the LE1600 with the external optical drive, and I can use the Bluetooth Logitech DiNovo setup if I need input devices.
Thoughts? Maybe other brands(not Gateway/Compaq/HP
)?

I really like the Gateway Tablet PC. It has a widescreen and a good feel in your hands.
My work laptop is a Toshiba Portege M200, which is a pretty solid laptop.
Sounds like you're looking for a slate tablet and not a convertible.
Any reason why?

Just what I've heard as to the convertibles 'wobbliness' on the turn-joint. And I can see it as a sign of wear personally.
Plus the weight I guess; pure tablets are slimmer and weigh less than a bulkier laptop/tablet combo.
And I don't see myself using the keyboard much, so I can see myself using the LE1600 docking station once in a while, or even tossing a Logitech DiNovo up to it.
Edit: And I like the slim feature of the Motion LE1600 as well

I saw an Acer 200 Tablet PC a couple of weeks ago, and that looks like a great model. Small, light, and a great slate, also.

I too want a Slate and the Motion LE1600 is the nicest out there today.
No Tablet PC will ever replace my desktop, with home networks we can all swap-out files on lightweight devices that we can carry anywhere. -

The Acer ones look nice, but with them recommending Windows XP Home Edition or Professional instead of Tablet PC Edition makes you scratch your head as to what their thinking. Maybe they're laptops and the tablet part of things is just an afterthought.
Still, I'd rather go for a true 100% tablet...
