Can I place Channel9 link in our new website?

I am very curious whether am i allowed to refence channel9 in our new website? Well our website, is just anothe tutorial website, and our blogs.

Will be great if we can place channel9 in one our links.

I'm 99% sure you CAN. There is no laws stopping you from linking or any reason to suggest C9 wouldn't want you to..

The legal side of this was settled in a recent "newspapers vs Google" battle. Essentially it boiled down to copyright laws: you can reference, but you can't copy.

So, unless you're lifting whole chunks, I doubt there'd be a problem with it

There are always ways to engineer a site so people can't deep-link to images or articles. There is a whole site dedicated to people that just don't get it: Don't Link to Us!
Makes one wonder why they payed to get online in the first place. It's hard to come up with something more braindead than asking people to sign agreements to have the pleasure of  giving away free google juice.

There is however some worrying legislation going on in Europe. The current proposal for the new Swedish copyright law (implementing an EU directive) would practically make it illegal to deep-link. Saying that even if it is possible to download something from a public server, you may not do so without explicit consent of the copyright holder. Which I interpret as being accessable by links, and thereby offered explicitly, from the front page. So if you guess an unlinked URL you would be comitting a crime. Giz *rolleyes smiley*
