I have done a search on this and could not find any answers that were applicable to the subject of this post.
My friend and I are hoping to set up a live streaming online radio. Ideally we will able to broadcast the show at our from our homes.
Here are my main questions:
1) Is there any software that will allow me and my friend to simultaneously stream to my server, and control the audio settings? If not, what would be the best way of doing this?
2) How do I stream content to the client over my web server? Will I need any specific server specifications (i.e. bandwidth, etc.)?
3) Can you recommend any microphones or audio equiptment that can be bought in the UK?
4) If there is anything else you think I should know before I continue feel free to tell me.
Thanks,
Angus Higgins

Take a look at Shoutcast.

...what does podcasting have to do with streaming audio?
EDIT: It seems Angus changed the thread title -
You should try Windows Media Encoder 9.
I saw a demo of it a few years ago its pretty good. -

If you want an Internet radio station, you need Windows Media Services 9 as well.
WMS only comes with Windows Server 2003 Standard (or Above), so no chance of running it on a Linux or desktop NT box.

I think you could just use WME9 without WMS
You would use WME and stream your internal sound cards source.
I was thinking of doing a live show soon and using WME and publishing the port on my router. -

I think there's a 10 connection limit on WME though.
