I decided to build one of my current WinForms applications using WPF unfortunately I couldn't find the MonthCalendar control.
Does anyone know if there is going to be one, or one which will replace it?or is it there but renamed?

No there is no date picker control in WPF and there are no plan to add one.

I think WPF will create a whole new market for component developers. I can't imagine what exciting commercial components will be available.

Yes you can. You can also create your own calendar, it's not that hard really.
