I guess there is a new build of vista, a new compile version went from .17 to .60...any ideas why?
It's being reported and confirmed over on Neowin. Sadly it doesn't show on connect for me and connect is crawling ATM, but thought I would share so all you guys can get it before the huge
rush.

5308.60 is Longhorn Server, not Vista.

I guess the one new build is supposed to give the option of Server or Vista -
How's the audio subsystem in that build? After I hammered the Creative drivers into Vista x64 with brute force, I'm having anything audio related going nutso.

This was just posted on the beta announcements NG:
Sam White [MS] wrote:I know that this is confusing, so I wanted to post something to try and clear things up.The only changes in the build "5308.60" are for server. For client it is exactly the same as "5308.17".It has zero effect on client, but won't hurt anything if you use those ISO images to install client. So unless you are testing server, you can just save your bandwidth. -
Just wondering, but how did you all get into the Vista Connect program? I'm sure it was like every other Beta that Microsoft has done since the Connect program started, it just seems like an unusually high number of people are in it.
Could just be my imagination, however. -

I was invited, most likely since I have previously done the Windows 2000, XP, XPSP1, XPSP2, 2003SP1/XP x64 and 2003 R2 betas as well. -
As I've stated before I haven't been invited however would like to be. But I read around online....

Bink.nu got 1000 invites awhile back and the first 1000 people to sign up (out of 30,000 if I recall) got in. Thats how I got in.ricodued wrote:Just wondering, but how did you all get into the Vista Connect program?
