I noticed that a previous poll showed a majority of the users here are Network Admins and so I thought I would see if anyone could suggest some good forums for Network Admins?
Thanks!

Try this one, it's got lots of 'em:

It depends on what type of help you are looking for. Channel9 is focused more on the developer and often times you might not get the help you are looking for. I think MSFT needs a site like this geared towards the admin where we can discuss admin issues.

I'm a Network Admin myself, and have campaigned long and hard to get a forum here for us types (ie. I must have asked Charles for a Channel 9 Sysadmin forum about twice!).
I would also suggest an Off-Topic forum that is not the Coffeehouse where people talk about things that are nothing to do with technology.
What none of these developer types realise, is that Systems/Admin is probably the most exciting area of computing at the moment. I, personally, haven't been more excited about a technology in years than I am about Altiris' excellent Software Virtualization Suite.
And its FREE! -

yeah but being the guy who writes that stuff is more interesting!! lol im biased.... I work with a lot of sysadmin types and i gota say... they don't have nearly as much fun as we do.... -
I agree Cider, it is an exciting time! We are actually looking into Virtualization so I will have to check out Altiris.
I am basically looking for a place to hang out and discuss ideas and to see what other Admins are doing, using, having problems with, etc. -
You could always ask admin type questions in Techoff (or start Admin-related threads there(that is, not questions, but topics, etc too). We will address the notion of more specific forums on Channel 9 as a team in the near future.

The sunbelt sysadmin & Exchange lists are very good.

About the only time SysAdmins get together is when someone has a "unsolvable' problem..
Mind you I had more than a few brain farts today when on one machine with 4 vm's, kvm to 4 more machines and in remote destkop.. I had to just click start every once in a while just to see which desktop I was actually in.. now if only whoami was standard in all desktops and not an add on in winxp.
today was my eval day for various remote desktop (s) i.e. pc-anywhere, gotomypc, logmein, remote desktop, web remote destkop, vnc. some of these remote desktops were running in virtual machines..
Has anyone ever noticed that recomended ram and processor speed seem to be intertwined?
Ibm Xt 6mhz 640K
win 3.x 80486-66 64M
p4 3.8G -- 4G ram max.

One of the issues with SysAdmin issues is that I usually like to try and find two sources to fix the problem, nothing worse than taking someone else's fix and finding that it makes things worse.
EventID.NET, Experts-Exchange, TechNet, MSDN, *.Forums, *.Blogs & C9 (Maybe) -
I don't know about network admins but for sysadmins there sure are lot of places to hang out.
Some popular boards, the trouble is of course that these do not have separation of network related chat and troubleshooting (coffeehouse/techoff separation) and any non-troubleshooting discussion can and will drown ..

Also since there are many type of networks there are some specialized mailing lists and whatnot for admins of such. -

I agree, Plan B is a must! Thanks for all of the suggestions, this will give me some good places to start and the good forums usually rise to the top. I personally dont know very network/system Admins so the forums are a lifesource for me.
