I found
this page announcing that TFS was released on March 20th, but we haven't received any disks from our MSDN subscription yet.
Anyone got it yet?

As far as I know, we've got it here at work. So it seems, that the DVD's shipped some time ago.

I only have betas, and it's not on the download list either

Well, according to the MSDN Subscriptions blog, TFS is available...

Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Workgroup Edition is currently available from MSDN Subscriber Downloads to all VSTx w/MSDN Premium subscribers. The Workgroup Edition is exactly the same as the full retail version but limits use to 5 users. If you haven't yet transitioned your MSDN Univesal Subscription, there's no time like the present.
All MSDN Premium customers, including Visual Studio 2005 Professional with MSDN Premium, have access to TFS Trial Edition which rounds out the VS2005 Team Suite Trial that is also available. These Trial Editions have full retail functionality, however they are time bombed for 180 days.

It was placed on MSDN downloads around March 17th or so. As of right now I'm showing it to be available under Developer Tools > Visual Studio 2005 > Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server.
I'm on a Team Developer subscription.
I have not received it via DVD yet nor is it slated to be part of the April DVD releases according to the website. -

Rob Caron states on his blog that it'll be in the May shipment:

Ah yes, there it is; workgroup edition, I must have been blind! Mind you it's not like I have a machine at home capable of taking it anyway

Sorry to bump this ol'thread but I haven't yet received the Team Foundation Server DVDs for this, nor can I see on Subscriber Downloads. Yet, as a Certified Partner with 5 CALs I should have it...
Has anybody received the DVD yet or can they see it on Subscriber Downloads (not the workgroup edition! - the pukka thing)

-
What makes you think that with 5 CALS you are entitled to the full version rather than the workgroup edition?
-
Because: if we are a Gold Partner we get 25 licenses and we are about 15 points off Gold Partner at the moment... so the idea of the us being licensed to the workgroup edition doesn't work for 25 licenses. It is fixed to 5 licenses. The partner site makes no differentiation between Gold and Certified in terms of software benefits.
... so do you have your media? -
For us normal people I will have a go at explaining the licensing model ...

Basic licensing model ...
All Team System products are licensed on a per-user basis
A license for each product is required for each user who installs/uses it
Each Client product available as standalone as well as with a MSDN Premium Subscription via Volume Licensing
Each client product contains both dev tools and server and O/S products.
No production use is granted
-
^^ Thanks very informative. I think it supports my understanding that we should have it...
So... does anyone have the media for this, either via MSDN DVD pack or via subscriber downloads?

-
Team Foundation Server is licensed separately from the MSDN subscriptions. If you have one of the Visual Studio Team Edition For x (or Team Suite) licenses, you will get Team Foundation Server *Workgroup Edition*. No-one gets *Standard Edition* as part of MSDN - you have to purchase it separately.
-
^^ not true. My MS Partner helper contact came through with an answer; See Planning for Team Foundation Server, specifically "If you are working on your own, or as part of a small team (5-person or less), than Team Foundation Server Workgroup Edition may be the right choice for you. Team Foundation Server Workgroup Edition offers all of the collaboration, security and performance advantages of the standard Team Foundation Server. The only difference is that Team Foundation Server Workgroup Edition is limited to 5 members. If your needs ever grow, you can move to the standard Team Foundation Server by simply using a new product key"
Basically, there is no separate installation media, you simply install Workgroup and put in your key for more CALs.
