Ok, I'm looking at it from a different standpoint. Who cares if Microsoft will woo any Linux, Mac, OS/2, BeOS, Solaris, ... whatever... users. The question is, will they convince me, a long-time Windows XP user, to upgrade?
I'm not about to make my final judgments of the operating system based on 5308. But so far, it's looking like Microsoft is taking a direction with Vista, including IE7, that I don't want to go. My organization has an MSDN subscription; we will be able to
download and install Vista the day it is released. But will we? I doubt so. I'm not even sure if we will install Vista on most machines by the end of 2007.
Vista has not convinced me that I need to go through the trouble of upgrading... am I getting alot from it? Is it even better, overall, than XP? And of course, why would I ever pay for a home license if I'm not convinced that upgrading for free is a good
idea?
