Checked my msdn subs page this morning.
Nothing showing yet. Am I jumping the gin gun a bit?

Off the top of my head it was meant to be yesterday wasn't it?
I was even being hopeful and expecting the public beta yesterday, alas it was likely to be just rumour.
anyone got any more ideas?
On a possibly related note, connect.microsoft.com is currently down for me, anyone else? -
It's not a rumour, it is today. It's only just gone midnight in the US, give them a few more hours and it'll be there, same with office
-
I wasn't sure if was geeky that i'm excited.
Then i remembered we're all geeks... -
Somethings i have read this morning seem to indicate it may be handed out to the WinHEC people after Bills keynote.
-
Another 8 hours or so then i reckon?
-
I rather hope to see Office beta 2 anytime soon, especially since I'm making my clean cut on the PSTs dependent on it (less work setting all up again than cleaning up the current mess).
-
When is it coming public? Any news?
Btw. when is the WinHEC opening?
Damn, I want this beta so badly. -

Reading between the lines on Jensen Harris' blog, I have a feeling it's already ready and just waiting to ship. He made some sort of comment about the Print icon and saying that they won't have time to change it for Beta 2, only afterwards. If they're too deep into Beta 2 to change a single icon, it's probably pretty much closed-down.

Believe me, it will be out today. It's been ready for a week. Both Vista and Office are being handed out at WinHEC. Be patient folks

WinHEC runs today until Thursday.
I know the betas are not in the registration goody bag like they were last time. But apparently that is because the CDs are not ready. -
I'm going to watch the BillG's keynote...

What is interesting is the fact that some people notice that from the screenshots posted on

I guess it is a fake then... An old version with a WinHEC wallpaper? -

I would not read too much into the expire date. From my experiance they tend to set very far in the future dates. I am sure there were quite a few builds of VS 2005 & SQL 2005 that expired a long while after the expected delivery date.

Are the Vista and Office betas that are being handed out to people at WinHEC going to be public (i.e. on microsoft.com?)

I remember my copy of VS2005 beta 2 having a 365 day licence. I'm guessing it's the real deal folks
