I am pretty excited about Beta 2...I have been using incarnations of it it to do my work for almost a month and it is pretty sweet. It has done a great job of running my music, pictures, development tools, websites, email and the tons of  janky (some are better than others) internal tools that we have here.

After it is released (no date specifics from me), Ill be walking these forums regulary with the effort in bubbling up as much information as I can to the product team about Shell specific issues.
