I wonder why Microsoft needs this stuff anyway. In Vista how would spyware/viruses get installed if someone doesnt delibertly allow it to?
Is it because unexperienced users wouldnt know any better not to click "download.exe" and allow it run with admin access?

Vincent

When you think about the number of people who just want der computer to work and dont know what it really does, MS gtes the blame for not making its os safer.

Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration> -
Only now its:

On a live server ... <shudder>

Seems to be working great now (or for me, not sure which). I am also excited about the tool being offered as it actually works on my x64 machine where other online (and even packaged apps) have failed.
thanks for the link.

Thanks for the link. It is working very well here. What I don't understand is what is making this Web 2.0? We had ActiveX controls since 199x (I don't know the exact year, but it is VEEEEEEEERY long now).
So what is different? Nothing.
