Hello Niners.
What's about a chat room in Channel 9 web site?. Maybe develop with WFP?. A XBAP type application?
I think that a chat system give to the community a way to comunicate faster than topics.
Hey, it's only an idea ![]()
What do you think about it?

I know that there are Irc clients in the Sandbox
, what i try to say it's to develop a chat room, and this chat room will be embeb in the web site, not develop a Irc client to install in your computer.
It's like java applets chat rooms, but using WPF (and in middle 2007 WPF/E
)

Already done
EDIT: It seems CS is blocking irc:// urls.
The URL is:

w3bbo... is the reason that the chats dont really work is because they arent"on" the main nav?
ie; there's a few versions - but no-one is ever in the room
but if was actually included in thread area ( "Chat button beside edit" ) we could open chats per thread - and when they are done the transcript would be able to be a post (in the thread)
edit* Then on main coffeehouse - title would change to "Chat in progress"
?

Jamie,
That would be an awesome update to C9 -
yes see one above..
* whatever the ie team uses when they do live chats works amazing - nice UI / functionality.
just drop that in as a button in coffeehouse threads - and change CH frontdoor to chat link
* so the chat becomes the thread while its active. when done the transcript becomes a post.
** or it turns into an embedded web messenger
** only the thread author - can turn it into a chat though? -
Yeah it would be good, but we also would need the standard posting methods for each thread.

I think ClickOnce would be perfect for this: no-touch deployment of a WinForms- or WPF-application. That would be cool.
