I personally like the design, and think it would be a great keyboard; I also really like the backlighting, it would be great for when you are on the computer at night. Has anyone else got thoughts on the 'ultimate keyboard'?

The buttons are also on the keyboard. The keyboard/numpad is bluetooth, so what I do it set MusicMatch 10's DJ to random something...then I can take the keypad into the front yard to sit in the sun and I can control the music with it(blaring through the window)...volume, back forward, pause, etc

If you use Media Player the song info will come through on the keypads LCD Smiley

(Rhetorical) Isn't the lack of numeric keypad frustrating?  I mean why design this beautiful keyboard and leave such a glaring deficiency in it?  I'm no market specialist but I'm assuming anyone buying this keyboard will be doing so because they got a "thing" for keyboards and anyone who is into keyboards probably has to be a really good typist and I dont know any typist who wants to enter numbers into the computer via 1-0 keys above the letters.

I'm gonna guess he means the 6-key block of these keys: Insert,Delete,Home,End, Page Up/Down when he said Home row.

It's a keyboard for Media Center computers and the like, note it has remote control functionality for MCE. I don't think Microsoft is pitching this as a "serious" keyboard for office use, rather an "entertainment" keyboard.

This does mean that some games will have to stop using the numpad as a control system though.

  • The key on the left of the 'Z' button is missing. Might not matter to americans but for us icelanders this is the key we use for '<', '>' and '|'. Goodbye coding (i do realize it's not meant for coding but still....) Sad
  • Bluetooth!!!! I've had nothing but problems with Bluetooth keyboards and mouses, intermittent hangs complete with a backwash of all the characters i tried typing when the hang finally clears, constant lag, connection problems etc. I'd much rather see the keyboard use an approach similar to Logitech's G7 cordless Laser mouse (utilizing the 2.4Ghz frequency).

Sounds like they are describing an Apple pro laptop which entered the market well over 12 monmths ago. I know my 2 month old 17" Mac Book Pro satisfies the claims that they are making.


So there's an Apple keyboard that is wireless, backlit, and rechargeable?  I have never even come across a chargeable keyboard, so I highly doubt it.

I really love the green Media Center button and also the blue Windows key.  But it would be nice if the keyboard also had a fingerprint reader.

You can have a "graphic design studio" and still have it as one guy. There's a picture of him building that mini-3-button-thingy on one of the pages. I think the $160 keyboard price was on one of the pages too. Hard to navigate through the site. If I were him I'm head to Logitech with an NDA, see what they think, and get them to build it Smiley
