Anyone got boingboing or Scott Adams rss feeds to work properly in O12?
The feed urls are:-
http://feeds.feedburner.com/boingboing/iBag
and
http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/the_dilbert_blog/index.rdf
I can get them into the rss folder just by adding the feed, but they don't update..........

I popped 'em both into OL Beta 2 and they worked fine for me.

Dilbert works fine for me

Except that it downloads 2 copies of each post

-
But do you get updates?
I get an initial set of posts but they never update. BoingBoing do serveral posts a day, Scott does one a day( usually
) -

Actually it doesn't (if you're seeing what I think you're seeing).
You see, the Dilbert RSS feed puts an <img> tag for the comic in the item's text, but it also adds an enclosure for the comic. The RSS reader is showing both. Windows Live does the same thing. -
I've got the same sort of problems with other RSS feeds that I have on O12 as well... Digg and slashdot are the big ones.
If you click the Send/Recieve button in Outlook (assuming that's what your using), you will notice the update info thing in the status bar go through each feed. Mine usually ends with errors which says it can't download them...
Although very occasional it does. And the others work fine (like channel 9) -
yeah i noticed the error appear on the status bar at the bottom you can view the errors too - yo u get something like:-
Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0xB7A40155) : 'Outlook cannot download the RSS content from http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/the_dilbert_blog/index.rdf because of a problem connecting to the server. An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program.'
I ran a repair, but that did not fix anything.........
feeds that work:
channel9
The Daily WTF
Coding Horror
feeds that don't update
BoingBoing
Gizmodo
The Dilbert Blog -
i've had the same problem - and each time i "think" i've fixed it, it pops up again.
only way to at least get my feeds updated is by adding a feed via IE7 - then it'll update my feeds in OU2007. But should i attempt to "Send/Receive" then it stops working.
very frustrating!!
