jus got placed in MS in my campus interviews a few days back.
will join next year.
i am wondering what exactly do i need to know when i join?
i mean what technologies do i need to be conversant with?

In general for interviews: knowing one imperative language pretty well helps - C#, C++ would help for ex. Also, knowing algorithms, data structures well helps too of course.
Aside from that, for specific techniques/technologies - depends very much on the position and teams.

Ah, sorry, I thought you got "placed" into an interview? Guess not. Still, good luck at the job then
Tester, if you mean a SDET, either writes test code or codes utilties used in testing. Essentially, I'd imagine you write unit tests, maintain unit tests, do regression testing, ensure coverage, come up with automation for those, etc, etc. -

I dont know anirban.d.das. I dont work at Microsoft and so any input i was to give might not be of help. Sounds like you did rather well. you could probably give us some pointers. congrats.

I STILL love how everyone who gets hired at Microsoft comes here asking for information on what they should do. Is it something that the recruiter tells them to do?
Recruiter: "Make sure you visit Channel9 and ask for hints on your first day!"
