While that is true, it was not the question and also not relevant at the time. He was dodging the question, and that's the issue at hand, not whether what he said is true or not.
And we weren't there. A statement such as "software will always have bugs" can be said in many different ways, it might come of sounding as "and I will do all I can to stop it" or as "meh". I'm betting it was the latter.
Thank you! Sven.
You saw something that Shark didn't notice. The guy wasn't making a fact statement, he was avoiding the question.
When I say, "How would you fix X", I don't want to hear, "There will always be problems." I want to know how you would fix the problem. That, Shark, is what you're not seeing.
The kid had NO clue WHATSOEVER how to address the scenario. He avoided answering the question by diverting the attention to a "duh" moment, "Software will always have problems."
I learned a long time ago that there are always 2 sides to a given story. So its upto you, I am not the one who is employing people : you are. So by all means shop for those who you like and have similar mental standing as you are. Maybe you work better that way. All I was pointing to is that there is truth to what he was saying with respect to bugs in software. I offcourse never was in the interview to judge the whole thing, but I could not careless, as I am not the employer here.
