Just thought I'd ask someone who a) is an expert on typography and b) has presumably used Microsoft Word
what his opinion was, if he has one.... The usual boilerplate about your opinions not being those of Microsoft Corporation
apply.
Also, did Microsoft Typography have any input into the creation of this product?

it is possible that someone just made up the memo, and did it badly on purpose with the intent of discrediting the totally true content.
anyway its purely conjecture, as theres no Forger product available from a Microsoft competitor for them to have stolen the idea from.

Way to resurrect a thread from 2004.
News Flash: Dan Rather is off the air. Mary Mapes, like Cap'n Ahab, was a victim of her own obsession....
-
Actually, Dan Rather got the memos from evil aliens!
"ALL YOUR MEMOS ARE BELONG TO US!"

-
LOL! WHAT YOU SAY!!!
-
I'll see if Bill can come and answer that one.
But, does anyone have an image of the Word critter that'll help you forge a memo? -
Do you think we could have Gilbert Godfrey do the voice of Clippy again?
"It looks like you're forging a memo!"
<insert clippy office assistant here> -

You beat me to it!!! In my version, the character looks like Clippy, but it's actually Clippy's Evil Twin, "Snippy":

LOL! I love meta-jokes!

Don Munsil (included in some of the comments about the issue) and I had a long discussion about this earlier in the week.
The bottom line is that any of the so-called document experts looking into these documents aren't real document experts.
Because if they were, they wouldn't be willing to give their opinions - there's no way that you can make meaningful comments about 3rd generation photocopies of faxed documents (of faxed documents of 3rd generation photocopies).
Without the originals to look at, any speculation is meaningless.
-
..What? .. I assume they don't have the original docs or it wouldn't even be an issue. What they need is original copies for other people from that year, that office etc.
But you would assume, that if you where going to make a home-made one with a lot at stake you would go to the trouble of making it perfect. Which isn't THAT hard.

You are the master of forgery, they should have consulted you first. LOL

boy, if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black i don't know what is. Alex, you do amaze me.
I also notice that after your derogatory, inflammatory comments you are always including a "LOL" or smiley. Sorry Charley, your attitude is still that of a juvenile, ignorant schwerp. -
Think he meant it as a joke. Chill out.

Wouldn't Clippy of been a hippy back then?
-
Is it just me ... or does clippy look like Millhouse ?
