i used to watch Cartoon network all day looong time ago
was watching Animax till few months back before it too was put off the air mainly due to the introduction of set top boxes. must get one this year 
. reg the fav just before animax was cutoff
i was watching flame of recca , though animation wasnt that good the story was and way better over the daragon ball series i mean in terms of no of episodes

Family Guy - hilarious
Some animes like:
Naruto - really good anime
.hack//sign - got cancelled a long time ago from Toonami
Tenchi Muyo/Universe - Universe was the better of the two
DBZ (not GT...GT's verrry lame)
Yugioh! - (the trading card game was fun for a while until you had to spend tons of $$ just to be better than the next guy)
Most Disney originals like:
Anastasia
Aladdin
etc..
The sequels most always stink.
Miyazaki's films are always fun too like Spirited Away.
Oh yes, and Star Wars Clone Wars was awesome.
