Of course this is just speculation and rumour, but I could see this doing a lot of damage to the Zune is this were announced a day or two before the Zune release.
Just sayin' ... I don't honestly believe Apple *do* have a wireless widescreen iPod in the works.

It'd be really cool if someone in the know could strikethrough all those items that aren't true, and maybe add a few more.

●might be like a..."A Microsoft portable gaming system"Doubtful, it has no gaming-specific hardware and only a 5-way d-pad and maybe a few other buttons. My PDA is waay powerful, and only a few games run well on the platform, (like AoE and Worms, but those aren't the sort of games you'd want on a Zune)
●run a program called "Windows Mobile"Windows Mobile isn't a program, it's the marketing name for the version of Windows CE used on both Smartphones and PocketPCs. The PocketPC hardware is standardised, I doubt the Zune will run it.
● has the ability to download movies
● be able to Wireless connect to the Xbox for exporting music.
●have reduced battery life (6 hours max, and a little less than a hour when WiFi is turned on)My PDA gives me at least 6.5 hours of nonstop music playback in 260Mhz mode (with PocketMusic, not WMP), and that's from a tiny 1100mAh battery. The zune will have space for a bigger battery (I reckon at least 2200mAH which should give 12 hours non-stop at least)
● User-Customizable Wallpaper skins
● probably feature a accessory such as a mini keyboard
● be used Vertically, except for widescreen movies.

● MIGHT (slim chance) have XM or Sirius satellite services built in. No chance, whilst they are different music delivery paradigms, they are competing.
● might have VoIP capabilities<<<See "VoIP" below for definition
●might be available in 2 additional colors at launchIt's in 3 colors
● might feature anti-shock hard drives and software They'd be stupid not to.
● release date might be as early as October
●Microsoft to ship 3,000,000 units in 2006Buwahahaha, have they even shipped 3 million XBox 360s yet?
●Future Zune products may compete with Shuffle, Gameboy, PSP and tablet PC’sThe TabletPC platform is Microsoft's own, and it already competes with the iPod, why bother with the iPod Shuffle? As for the Gameboy and PSP, they might have a chance, but they'd have to market it under the XBox brand (XBoy, anyone?) rather than Zune (after all: Zune = Tune)
●Li-Ion batteryIf I were them, I'd go with Lithium-Polymer batteries, they're superior in every way, except slightly more expensive.
● Preloaded audio and video content
● Toshiba will manufacture first gen Zune hardware
● Zune will be launched in '06, most likely Nov. 14
● WiFi (802.11 b/g) connectivity
● 30 Giga-Byte Hard Drive

● magnetic headphones.
● LCD high resolution screen, the screen is 3.75 inches diagonal
● built-in FM radio tuner
● TV output connectivity
● dedicated song download site
●DJ Mode (broadcast what you are listening to)The **AA won't allow it, you saw the "3 day/play" thing
● wheel is NOT a wheel it is simply 4 button (up, down, left right)
● Zune brand will eventually include multiple entertainment devices

I know nothing, but those specs are more wrong than right

That's 5 million over nearly a whole year, compared with 3 million over the 2.5 months remaining in 2006?

Well, where can we get some credible details?
I pulled that list off ZuneScene which i thought was reputable since they interviewed a Zune marketing guy, Cesar Mendez.
The most important feature I am looking for details on is video playback.
All my home movies are digital (AVI, MPG, and DIVX).
I record the movies with my Digital Video Camera, upload them to my pc, and then usually burn them to DVD.
But, if I had a Zune, I am thinking I could upload my Home Movies to my Zune, carry that with me to the families house and plug it right into their TV.
Then I don't need to lug around DVD's!
But, I have heard rumors that Zune will somehoe place "protection" on all media uploaded to it.
And I don't want my home movies DRM'd! -
W3bbo pwned again. That's the second time this week. Losing grip?

Personally, I dont like the iPod. Its the worst product of all time, thats why I stick with Creatives player until Zune comes out, yeah I have an iPod but its a paperweight, nothing more, nothing less. If Apple gave me $500.00 and a video iPod and the only stipulation was to use an iPod for a month, I still wouldnt use it.
-
Wow it does this, it does that, it does this other thing... All of which have absolutely nothing to do with music whatsoever...
Wireless or 40+ hour battery life... Hmm let me think...
I might be a technologist but even I think this is a little crazy... It is an MP3 player, it plays MP3s... All of the bells and whistles add little or nothing.
The iPod works because it is a simple MP3 player that works. It is not because the iPod has this feature or that feature... They get the core basics right, they don't fill it up with ten tons of bloat.
Zune = Bloat ... Microsoft = Bad Copy of Apple ... -

Is that shipped, or sold?

Very good point there, but do Christmas season sales really account for 50% of a year's sales?

I dunno how applicable this is, but I have calculated that 35% of my 'goodies' are purchased during the holidays.

I'm 99% sure that's not true. I'm almost positive Zune is running a modified version of Windows CE.
Also, a ton of the questions asked are answered here. -

It wouldn't surprise me. Although, the Wii will cut into some of that sales. It's why MS's been pushing the Wii360 so much. But that probably won't happen during THIS X-mas.

I'm going to put $20 on Wii outselling XBox 360 this xmas. Any takers?
