Well, the contest winners are probably going to be announced sometime today, but here's my guesses at who the winners will be:
For C#, it's pretty tough to say, but I think Adaeria Today, Desklets and
MovieScrape all look like pretty solid applications! Can't really say for sure, since I haven't tried them, but they're all based on good concepts and seem to be well thought-out.
For VB.net, it looks like a toss-up between BitTorrent Parser and CallerPC. CallerPC looks pretty simplistic, but I think it's a nice idea, and I don't remember ever seeing it done before. BitTorrent Parser looks like a cool app, but I'm not sure
how well it really works, since I've never heard of the 'torrentbits framework'.
For VC++, I think it's pretty clear that Voxygen is going to win. Voxel rendering isn't exactly trivial, and from the screenshot it appears to run at a pretty respectable speed.
For J#, it's probably either going to be ChatApp or TChat. Hard to say without trying either of them.
In the Visual Web Developer category, I think Enemy Territory Server Query Web Service is probably going to win. It seems like a nice implementation of a non-trivial concept, and definitely would be useful if it works as advertised.
And then for the SQL Server category, who knows? I'm not sure there were even any entries that used SQL Server.
So, then, what do you guys think? Hopefully you've taken a look at most of the entries already, so let's exchange some feedback on each other's entries and try and guess who the winners are!

What about my vb.net app (exercise-it)? If you want to see some more screenshots visit my site.
The callerPC certainly looks very nice and deserves an honorable mention if it doesn't win. About BitTorrent Parser, don't know; I don't see any useability in a combination of Bittorrent and RSS. I have never seen a bittorrent link in my RSS directory.
Did anybody get an email yet about the contest? -
I don't think you can REALLY judge without playing around with all the apps. On that note, I don't think my app ('ChatApp', J#) deserves to Win and I don't expect it to.
It was an unfinished app unlike the competition who are all finished and do what they say fully. My guess - TChat will win the J# category.

Hey now! I used the SQL Server in MyComrade.
The C# category seems to be full of awesome ideas but based solely on screenshot and description, I would choose MovieScrape from C#. There are more great ideas in VB although I'd have to choose CallerPC for sheer usefulness.
Judging without the actual programs would seem to leave the games with a disadvantage, they might be really fun to play. -
Still no message from the winners. Why can't we just get a list of who won?
-
I don't think my app is going to win though, the BitTorrent RSS Parser application works with the www.torrentbits.org site, which I found to be a really good place to get new torrents from. Some may like bittorrent and some may not. It's really usefull for me though as I check in there regulary, instead of open my ie and type in the stuff etc I just open my app and finds the newest stuff added there and I can see the description of it, it also has a very weak IMDB info box so, and by clicking on the Download Link it automatically starts your default bittorrent app and download it if you are logged in..

Why wait until the 18th to reveal the winners?
Best of luck to everyone

I keep my finger crossed for my fellow Norwegian and his BitTorrent Parser ..
-
Thanks
Never thought I would see a guy from norway aroundhere
-
We should find out who won today!
-
Still no news.
Did any of the winners receive an email yet? -
I can't wait anymore..

Edit: I hope Desklets, MovieScrape og HTMLlibrarian wins, I really think those are cool apps, all made in C#
-
I am guessing there's something wrong with the "Submit" button etc..
It's getting late around here and I am eager to see who won
-
There's still hope for us. I didn't see anyone claiming they won.
If I would win, I would let everybody know on this forum. -
Yeah, me too.. probably

But I can't seem to understand why they haven't announced the winners yet.. I am getting alittle frustrated as it's soon October the 19th here

The zip (source code) appear to be corrupted.. ?

Thank you, thank you very much!
PS: Can I get some kind of evaluation of my application/code? I've never had any code evaluated by someone better than me.
