Windows Live Ribbon (for IE)

EDIT: doesnt work in firefox - but then.. its an ie extention...

ok...continuing from ie8 ideas thread: 
ie9 - ya that name wont work. (although i liked it )

and ...im not a programmer - so ive switched this all to web so i could make the toolbar..

hense: new name - Windows Live Ribbon (for Explorer     (html browser - for now...)

- fullscreen works - using on and off - but not if you try to browse around as it goes back to normal frameset (* I will make Exit fullscreen button sticky in all ui)

- the browser works..  html iframe though - with all it's inherent probs

- nothing still done or placed in ribbon - but i did get a shell going to do that

- if anyone would like to help - here is a zip

job #1  -  id love this to launch without browser window/frame
**so whatever the index.htm page is - thats the border.

i spent a looonggg time today playing with .hta's.  but using these wipes all javascript - and i dont no VB. ( thats what i was trying to do - was re-learn all my <javascript = history-1 into vb script - didnt work...although it should have (maybe ie7 has hta bugs? who knows...  ANYway...

chromewindows (i think they still dont work... or any trick anyone knows would be appreciated - also - the top bar on the window should be draggable with mouse (not drag out ...(yet ) 

and a close button would need to be added - hopefully in text or image - not a form button

last - open size - not sure - probably centered to monitor - at about 20% less than screen size?

anyway - still workin on it - thought id post where im at ( i really like the ribbon for IE! )

The point would be that if your idea gets some popularity and then Microsoft decides to come out with a product with the same name it would just create confusion and (unfortunately) you'd be forced to change yours, losing all the mindshare you've built.

Find a new name and you're worry-free

(I speak for myself, my views are not even mine but suggested hypnopedically by my cat and certainly not my employer's, etc etc etc)

A browser based browser.  Methinks some people are taking this software as a service thing waaaaaaay too far.

when i release my sphere browser ball - that you spin and then say "google" and it opens - maaayybe id worry about that

this is just to show how live maybe be able to get you a real Internet UI - you know like the one Google DOESNT have..

Makes it easier for people to keep track of blogs, domains, log-ins and ftp...

Are you saying that you couldn't use EMCAScript inside HTAs, and that you could only use vbscript?
You can use JS, even when the page is viewed as a HTA. I am pretty sure I have used JS in HTAs...

when i use hta's for html browsers - back and forward no longer work  (javascript history -1 stuff)

a couple of small windows live.com requests:

1. the sign in wipes iframes.  very un-web2.0
even news.com redesigned to work with iframes. (no target=_top everywhere).  also - the biggest sin - the looping thing = cant hit back. just goes back to sign in.   (arg!)

if you need a new window - pop one up for login ( layer) dont wipe those who mash you up

2. windows live google earth or whatever its called.  will not load with in a frame - just loads blank.  ?

working now on a universal locked/unlocked/windefault button arrangement.   why?  who knows
