HEROES (On-going Discussion of the TV-Series)

I got hooked on this tv series, Heroes, a few weeks back and I can't seem to get enough of it. I'm not involved enough to know exactly what is going on, but if I'm not mistaken this is the week where we finally get to understand "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World". Due to that Revelation, I was curious as to how many other Niners watch this tv series, and who will be clinching the popcorn bowl tonight?

As a counter point, anyone watching 'The State Within', I'm quite hooked on that as well.

I have company tonight, so I'll be getting it from iTunes whenever it goes up.

Just got caught up last night on the series. Thought I'd dislike it, but it's turned out to be pretty entertaining.

Okay, so I just got done watching it and I'm still not sure what "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" means. I thought that mystery was supposed to be revealed tonight? What does Claire have to do with the world? Sure, she has one of the coolest powers...but so what?

Not only that, but why didn't Mr. "I can only do what you can do when you're close" guy use Siloh's powers to fight him back? Why pansy out and end it in a 30ft belly-flop?

Oh the madness, the questions, the week that interrupts my viewing pleasure!

That episode was really cool....

Is there any better reason to watch a TV show?   I think not.  I don't watch much TV, but I do know who the Gilmore Girls are.

No one exactly said Claire was THE cheerleader.... Isac only paints the future. Claire can be just coincidental. No one said the cheerleader had to still be a cheerleader. (you never know)

Oh and its Sylar (not Siloh). I'm guessing it helps Peter to have an idea of what power he needs to exercise in order for him to use a conscious power (like flight and painting the future, its not like they come with manuals).

From briefly looking at that poster I thought it was a parody of LOST

Rory made me watch it with his last blog...

That was pretty good. I'll be sure to put it on the schedule. It breaks the format that Americans love so much. Has good writings, and everything doesn't wrap up neatly at the end of the episode.

I too thought the Sylar fight was kinda weak, but I thought it was a good episode overall. 

As for the number of episodes left, IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0813715/episodes#season-1) only lists 3 more, but with this being the 1st season who knows if it will fill out a full schedule.

I have seen the first 3 episodes and have been tivo'ing every episode since.

At the end of the season, I will watch them all back to back with no commercials.

I do it this way for shows I like, (I guess I am too impatient to wait until 'next week').

Although I tried this method with 24 too, and it worked well for season 4, but by the wime season 5 came around, I just couldn't wait until the end of the season.

How many episodes are left in this season? Anyone know?

I have to gripe:

It is only me, or is the acting / directing of Heroes among the worst I've ever seen on network TV. It's worthy of "Mansquito" on the Scifi channel. Don't get me wrong, I like the story.. The writing could be a little better (I mean, come on, "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World"), but it's a compeling show.

One great example of this was the previous week. Claire's friend walks in the front door and says in a fairly loud voice, "hey I found the tape of you killing yourself." Not very discrete.. There's lots of examples of stuff like this..

What's up with the politician's brother? I think he took acting lessons from Keanu Reeves.

Anyone else think it should benefit from some new direction?

perhaps a play on words?

we think they mean:  "if you save her then you will have saved the world" more-or-less...

but perhaps it means: "first save her, then save the world"

like the cheerleader is a kind of "Warmup" for the main event.

I see that they are all getting closer, learning of the others perhaps a "League of Heros" in the making is part of the whole thing...

I mean yeah that's kinda there all along but ... hard to explain kinda...  I see at least 3 lines

I missed all the first episodes...did it show how the badguy, Syler (or whatever his name is) started noticing his own powers?
