Sorry to laugh but this is funny.

I'm glad to provide you with cheap entertainment.

When you do IFilter some results in, maybe check
those totals using real Search. If one is missed then
it could just as easily be 1000's ?

Why would one be missed? Please be very specific in your response.

I'll give you an even better laugh back.

It's better to demonstrate how, rather than to pick on someone.

What Spectate Swamp "will do" with it's various IFilters (I'll call
them exports/extracts) Say you have a lot of excel spread sheets:

-The export will take a text copy of what it can. (1 .XL to 1 .TXT file)
-The export will do a screen capture of the excel page images.

Then this Search "will do" the following:

-For each line in the text file, it will add a 2nd line pointing to the
image in export point #2 above.

The simple routine above needs to be done.

The Search then would find matches in either context, (hi-lited text
matches from export file #1) or Look in the 2 line match files and
display the screen image. If you were running your search on the
machine that had all software loaded. It could then have option
of starting that application and passing it the .XL file name to
open.

Most of the time you would want the Match in Context results,
then maybe the screen image to see the layout.  And for some
ungodly reason you might even want to massage the original?

The ability to start up each application and pass it a name would
need to be done. This should be really easy to do.

It would be just as easy with this Search to substitute a video
of the screen images instead of a screen capture at export point
#2 and the system would work as well or better.
