On one of my test machines I got E17 running. Its got great subtle effects and works even on unaccelerated hardware as the Thinkpad I am testing it doesnt have 3D PC-BSD drivers. Its definately a redefinition of the UNIX desktop and I think GNOME and
KDE are in for a hell of a fight. If you are an Ubuntu, Xubuntu or Edubuntu user there are repositories available, on BSD you have to get your dependencies from the Ports tree. I shall post some screenshots later.

From what I've seen from a Google search I have to say it looks alright, but I personally would go for GNOME, over it. I don't know about KDE because I haven't used it. I am interested to see some screenshots of your own though.

I've tried all three, (E, Gnome,KDE) and out of the three, I'll stick with gnome. Gnome and Beryl
(somewhat glassy and wobbly windows!)
