Not at all. But that's all I can say until Monday

I'm in the know too, but since I'm not under NDA it's temping to rat out my informants to the NDA-police inside Microsoft

I'm not in the know, but I'm still hoping it's something like this.

This sounds extremely interesting. the house with a brain maybe? a computer in every room! It would seem to open up possibilities to the masses that don’t have some one who works in IT living in their home. -im not in the know. just guessing. =)

Interesting. I'm trying to figure out what this is supposed to be, but the main vibe I'm getting from the articles is "centralized storage." Great, I have a $200 NAS that does just that.
I wonder... When is the Microsoft keynote at CES? -
A home server would be really nice. I don't want an OEM product though. I would want to install it on an older PC where the graphics card isn't up to much but where I can swap in a larger HD and use it mainly as a file server, small database server and a central source code repository. The two older PC I have would be capable of supporting those sort of operations (all of them are just basically pulling stuff off a disk and streaming them across a network).

"Windows Home Server will be a Vista-based system, not a Windows Server-based one"
I hope this isn't true because it sounds completely illogical. -

From my sources, I have it based on NT5.2, not 6.0. The Winver dialog box proves this.

I would just wait for the Windows Vista Home Server edition.

Gates has a pre-show keynote tomorrow at 6:30 pm (I assume PST).
