I have been watching the Scoble Show today.
He is showing a new way to
communicate with people using a new tool called
Me.dium.
I find it very interesting... Anybody willing to share his/hers way through the web with me? I'm "littleguru" (of course) ![]()
Who wants an invitation? Send me your e-mail address or post it here (as reply).
(thanks to jsampsonsPC for pointing this out)

Kinda like gooey some years back.

I am waiting to be accepted onto this website. It says it is in beta at the moment and that I will get a user account in a little while; after that I will "share my way through the web with you".

They let you in. I got an e-mail that the thing is on inviation only. After a few minutes I got another e-mail with the registration link! I talked also to one of the guys who are running it and he said that they are adding new members right now.

Looks like a Digg clone to me. Making it invite-only to begin with isn't going to help. They should work on a working product first, then make it generally available. The "Beta" fad is long over.
Why do people assume services will be popular just because they have an invitation-only system? The fad started with LiveJournal, but that was for technical reasons (they needed to curtail new-user signups to a manageable amount per month until they got more servers).

Speaking of boring fads, is anyone else tired of "creative" domain names? del.icio.us was clever, but me.dium.com? That's just lame.

Hi folks,
I'm Dean and I work at Me.dium. Just thought I'd jump in with a quick response to these questions and provide everyone who wants to join with an open invitation.
We've been staggering our invitations to allow our servers to grow at a faster rate than our user base. The 'private beta fad' may be overdone, but it's better than a pile of smoldering servers if we grow too fast.
Our name is intended to emphasize that the service is about Me. Or 'you' in this case. We've taken several steps to give each user as much value and control over sharing their attention stream as possible.
We're currently working on support for IE7 and have plans for additional browsers down the road. Our beta release started before IE7 was due to launch, so we've focused on Firefox for our initial efforts.
Thanks for your questions and please keep the feedback coming. -
Thanks for the Open Invite Dean
Shall be interesting to have a play around in...
My profile name is Netweb so anyone else wanting some more friends just add me on in.
