An opposing point of view for me is anyone saying that MS is better, or Linux is better, or MacOS is better. That opposes my view.
As I have said before, I love technology and love makes blind, not to mention an inability to choose any particular OS. Yes, I know, it weak but I'm an addict.

I've got my misgivings with Microsoft. Darryl Taft on DNR called just about every competitor complaining about MS sourgrapes. That's a load of willies. There are competitors out there with valid complaints about MS business practices. Some others are indeed sore losers.

Firstly, I don't care if he stays or leaves, but I'm not asking him to leave.

Secondly, his most recent thread before this one was definitely trolling.

Like I said, there are pro-linux 9ers who are not trolls - they help balance the points of view here. There are also, to be fair, some pro-Microsoft 9ers who act like trolls too.

Finally, if someone is vehemently anti-Microsoft, why would they even spend time on a MS-oriented site if not to troll? I think there's a difference between being pro-Linux and being anti-Microsoft.  Corona falls in the latter camp, as far as I can see.

There is nothing wrong with an opposing point of view (I'd like to point out that corona_coder is actually one of the few posters that is not willing to accept an opposing point of view).

So if it's from a netblock, multiple posts would be obvious.
If it's from a rented server using squid, it's just as obvious with a quick ping to http.
If it's a proxy server, it's just as obvious with a reverse lookup.

If you look  up several posters and they are all coming from known ISP host/domain names ( host.domain in different states or countries ), you can bet that it's not the same people.

Anyone that has greped through /var/log would be familiar with that.

If I remote desktop into my work machine (IP address registered to the University I work for) and post a message from there and then post another from home (IP address registered to an ISP) there would be no correlation, no trail, no proxy, nothing to link the two. In this day and age it's not exactly difficult to do, even if the C9 staff cared that you had multiple accounts.

As far as Corona_coder goes, the wording in the 'Vista fails again' is exactly what you mention: opposing MS, that's all. What is actually being said is buried under that strong wording. The impression I get from that is that what happened (multiple failed installations) is less important and falls away under a deluge of words.
If I try to get technical matters across and/or make comparisions, I try (try, I say) not to bury it under non-information.

The impression I get is that Vista was bought with this in mind, looking forward to the opportunity to get into an argument with someone selling Microsoft products. How I come to that conclusion? The form combined with the content.

In the responses there was irrelevancy too. Cescotto brought up the matter of marketshare. Marketshare matters to marketing people and anyone in a commercial capacity. The marketshare of MS, Linux, MacOS etc etc is one of the least important aspects.

A bit harsh surely?  I decided to make fun of him for two or three weeks (almost past now?) and then leave it at that.  We all make rash statements now and then.
